BSides Bournemouth 2026

Call for Proposals (CFP)

Introduction

Are you passionate about cybersecurity? Got a fresh perspective, a hard-won lesson, or a wild story from the trenches to share? We want to hear from you. BSides Bournemouth is now accepting talk submissions for our upcoming event! Whether you’re a seasoned professional or taking your first step onto the stage, there’s a spot for you.

Our conference is a gathering of around 250+ curious minds, practitioners, researchers, tinkerers, and defenders. It’s a place to share knowledge, build community, and challenge assumptions. We welcome talks that are technical, practical, thought-provoking, or just plain fun.

BSides Bournemouth is taking place on 7th November 2026 at the Royal Bath Hotel.

This year, we’re organising two distinct tracks.

Track 1: Main Talks

Length: 30 minutes (with a 5–10 minute buffer between talks)
Who’s it for? Professionals, seasoned practitioners, and experienced researchers.

We're looking for talks that go deep. Technical deep dives, novel attack/defense strategies, real-world case studies, red/blue/purple team insights, incident response lessons, and more. If you’ve got a fresh take on an old problem or a new problem we’re just starting to face, this is your track.

💡 Ideal submissions should include:
- A clear abstract (what the audience will learn)
- Background/experience relevant to the topic
- Any necessary technical level (intermediate / advanced)

Track 2: Lightning Talks

Length: Up to 20 minutes max,
Who’s it for? First-time speakers, quick talks, and experimental ideas.

This track is fast, fun, and inclusive. Whether you’re a newcomer with a fresh take or a veteran with a small-but-powerful topic, we want your voice here. These talks can range from the deeply technical to high-level ideas, community stories, or even soft skills for cybersecurity professionals.

💡 Great fits for this track include:
- Speaker stories
- Ideas for the Infosecurity Industry
- Unusual problems and clever solutions
- Short explainers (e.g., “How I got into AppSec” or “Why threat modeling is underrated”)

Submission Guidelines

Please include the following in your submission:
- Talk Title
- Track Preference (Main Talk or Lightning Talk)
- Abstract (150–300 words)
- Speaker Bio (1–2 short paragraphs)
- Any prior speaking experience (it’s okay if this is your first!)
- Technical level (Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced)
- BSides Bournemouth does welcome vendors to submit talks but we do not accept product demos and adverts.

Talk Selection Process

  • Once the talk deadline is over, each submission gets reviewed by CFP review board
  • Your talk is then given a score by the CFP review board on what they like the most
  • When all the scores have been provided, the CFP review board agrees on a schedule
  • The speakers are then notified for confirmation and then the schedule is published

Note: If selected you will be given access to the event for free

You can enter proposals until 2026-09-20 13:37 (Europe/London), 3 months, 2 weeks from now.
